The
North Boston Volunteer Fire Company was founded in September of 1904, after
a fire destroyed Schunk's Hotel.
Local resident Fred Frank
rallied the men of the town to form the first fire company. A small hand
cart with a Gould pump mounted on it was the company's first piece of fire
apparatus.
The North Boston Fire Company 49 Active Members are lead by
Chief David Bernas and President Donald O'Bryant, is supported by a Ladies Auxiliary. More History....

July 15- North Boston Fire Officials
declare the First Annual $50 Grand Gala a resounding success. After a rainy
morning, the sun came out and heated things up for the start of many more
events to come. Over 1,400 people attended the event, witnessing
$148,000 in prizes

Planning Board

14- Several North Boston Fire Officials were present for the approval of the
new firehouse design from the Town of Boston Planning Board. The next step
in the process is to get Town Board approval, which is anticipated for
Wednesday May 21st. Check our progress...
Charles Dickens coming to Boston on November 8
May 14-The North Boston Volunteer Fire Company is sponsoring Boston’s
Mike
Randall as Charles Dickens in a solo performance of “A Christmas Carol” on
Saturday, November 8th at the Boston Valley Elementary School.
Show time is 7 PM. Tickets are $10 each and may be reserved now by calling

Fire Injures three- one seriously

14- North Boston
Fire Broke out in a residence on Ward Road on Tuesday May 13th just after
8pm. Two residents were treated for smoke inhalation, while a third resident
was flown by Mercy Flight to ECMC with serious burns and a fractured leg.

The Firefighter Newspaper recently announced the North
Boston Fire Company was awarded the Excellence Through Teamwork Award for
the Winter/Spring Edition for their support of the Kids Escaping Drugs
Campaign. The award will be presented on Friday August 8th at America's Fair
in Hamburg NY. "Showing a good example is something emergency service
providers do naturally, every time they respond to someone's call for help.
Members of the North Boston Fire Company have taken this commitment to the
next level.."

Aid Organization Recognize Firefighters

Congratulations to the following North Boston firefighters recognized
recently by the Erie County Fire Chief’s
Mutual Aid Organization for outstanding service in their categories: Fire
Captain Jack Braun (0-10 years) and Firefighter Sean Crotty (11-20 years).
Also receiving Certificates of Merit were Firefighter Tom Kyle (21+ years),
Firefighter Paul Schunk (40+ years) and Firefighter Herb Klein (50+ years).
Lake Effect Firefighter Ski

The North Boston Fire Company is proud to continue their alliance
with the Kids Escaping Drugs Campaign. Over 85 firefighters participated in
the 4th Annual Lake
Effect Firefighter Ski Race on Sunday January 6th, 2008 at HoliMont Ski

New Fire Station Fund Drive

the approval of the Boston Town Board, members of the North Boston Fire
Company initiated their first fund drive since 1984 in early September.
Since then residents of the
Fire District received a support packet in the mail, many answering the
call. To date, we have realize 44% of our fundraising goal.
