Fire Prevention
Our Mission
Our mission is to inform the public on emergencies that can happen anytime and anywhere. Over the past several years we have had at least 100+ emergencies in our community and surrounding towns per year. Much of this call volume invovled a fire alarm, CO detector or some sort of alarm activation. With those alarms going off it can prevent life threatening events. In the following we will list some good fire prevention tips.
Smoke Detectors
Smoke Detectors should be installed in every house. Roughly three out of five deaths in house fires happened in houses with no working smoke detectors. Smoke detectors can be purchased at any hardware store. Batteries should be changed every 6 months. These should also be tested once a month to ensure there is no error with them.
Fire Extinguishers
Fire extinguishers can play a big role inside or outside of your house. Whether you are grilling or have a candle that gets knocked over, there are different extinguishers for different types of fires such as....
- Class A- Cloth, Wood, Rubber, Paper, and Plastics.
- Class B- Gasoline, Grease and Oil.
- Class C- Electrical fires.
- Class D- Combustable metals.
- Class K- Kitchen fires.
